Welcome to the Christmas Crafts Classroom. Here we've gathered together all the content we have with a festive theme. You'll find video workshops and inspirational blog posts with lots of ideas and information to help you celebrate the festive season in creative style.
Don't you find that Christmas and the festive season becomes increasingly commercialised year on year? So what better than to make your own handmade Christmas. In the Christmas Classroom you'll find some beautiful stitched projects such as the Winter Table Runner that you can make to decorate your home. These special pieces are worth the time and effort as you'll be able to get them out every year.
In our house it's tradition to add a new decoration to the Christmas tree each year. If you do the same, maybe this year you'll make that new decoration. Our Festive Fancy class will show you how to make that special, over-the-top, addition to your tree. If you can't go mad with a few beads at Christmas when can you?!
But don't worry, if time isn't on your side then we have some quick makes too, download Linda's original robin painting to make your own greetings cards, or if you're keen to get the kids involved, try making your own glitter cards.
Best of all, you'll find nearly all the content in this classroom is free. Well it is Christmas after all.
Christmas Decoration Card
We love the idea of sending and receiving greetings cards over the festive season, but we hate the idea of them all just being thrown away in the New Year. Instead, why not make a card that the recipient will keep and treasure for years? That's the idea with this project. Learn how to sew a foundation pieced tree decoration mounted onto a greeting card, perfect to send to your friends and loved ones.
Foiling on Paper
Add metallic gleam to your sketchbook and other work on paper using foiling. Linda will demonstrate a number of ways to use the foil creatively to add shapes and painterly areas of metallic.
Make a beautiful embroidered bauble with Laura. She'll show you how to use soluble fabric, free machine embroidery and embellishment with gems to make a fantastic festive addition to your tree decor this season.
Advent Art Challenge
We challenge you to make a little art every day this festive season. Let's keep it manageable with these fun tags. You'll find a printable sheet of tags to get you started.
We've grouped together our popular festive video workshops to help get you all set for the season. Make your own stitch paper greetings cards, pop them in funky printed envelopes, then decorate your home with easy to sew bunting and a fantastic wire and stitched leaf garland.
