Easy Acid Dyeing

If you’ve got a microwave oven that you no longer use for cooking you could put it to good use dyeing silk and woollen fabrics and threads with acid dyes. Laura shows you how easy acid dyes create fabulous results in a very short time.

To work along you will need:

  • Microwave oven (not for food use once you’ve used it with dyes!)
  • Pure silk and woollen fabrics, threads and yarns (no synthetics!)
  • Easy acid dyes (we get ours from Kemtex in the UK)
  • Plastic microwaveable tub
  • Cling film
  • Apron, gloves, mask

Approximate run time: 16 minutes
