Well whether you’re staying close to home because of the ongoing pandemic, or don’t live particularly close to museums and galleries at the best of times, you might be missing the inspirational fix that comes from visiting an exhibition. We are so fortunate in the UK to have many fantastic collections of art around the country, and of course specifically in London which is home to some of my favourite rooms in the world! There is nothing to match that goose bump moment when you stand alone in a gallery in front of a favourite painting. I confess that’s the only thing I’ve missed while we’ve been living this new normal.

The next best thing is to take advantage of the online offerings from the museums and galleries. All the big names have put lots of content on their websites often including video tours, virtual exhibitions and gallery talks. I’ve been enjoying the talks posted by The National Gallery. They are posting videos of their lunchtime talk programme and there are many sessions archived on YouTube. I’ve picked out just three which I’ve enjoyed below to get you started. Head over to their YouTube channel to find lots more.
Maybe the talks I’ve picked out aren’t quite your cup of tea. If not, instead head to the website of your favourite gallery or museum and see what they are offering. There’s loads out there to inspire!
