How it Works
We’d like to invite you to browse through the Classrooms and choose the video collections that appeal to you. Build your own personal library of classes on your favourite subjects. You’ll find that some workshops are offered singly, others are part of a collection. All with instant and unlimited lifetime access.*
Pick and Mix
- Choose from the library of video collections in the Classrooms, add new workshops whenever you want to. There’s no time limits or subscription term.
Watch when you want to
- Unlimited lifetime access*
- Alongside the paid-for content, you’ll find free video workshops and other inspiration and information in the Classrooms.
- Share your work in the Gallery
- Sign up for our newsletter and we’ll write to your regularly with updates on what’s new here plus interesting links to other things we’ve seen while out and about, or on the internet such as exhibitions and events. (Sign up at the bottom of the page).
You can pay as you go when purchasing our workshops. If you live overseas and want to avoid multiple overseas transaction fees that might be levied by your bank, or you would just prefer the convenience, you might like to purchase Classroom Credits. This is a pre-pay option, rather like giving yourself a gift certificate. The credits can be redeemed against anything here at DesignMatters from items in the shop to Video Workshops.
The Credits you purchase will be added to your DesignMatters account and you can choose to redeem them against any future purchases. You can top up your credits at any time, just by purchasing more. They don’t expire, so you can use them as and when you want. There’s more information about them here.
* the lifetime of us, you or DesignMatters.
To make your viewing experience as enjoyable as possible we’ve compiled a list of the most common questions here. If you don’t find the answer you need please don’t hesitate to email us.
Q. How do I watch my purchased videos?
Login with the username and password you used to make your purchase.
Then you have two options. You can click My Account and then My Videos to see all your purchased content. Alternatively, you can click on the Classroom for the topic that you wish to view and browse through the available videos to find the one you want to watch. This is a great way to view as you’ll also come across our free content such as free video workshops and inspirational posts. If you click on anything and find you can’t view it, but want to, you’ll find there are easy links to click to add the item to your shopping cart.
Q. Can I download the videos from the website to watch later?
No, the shows are only available via our website using the streaming service. This means that the videos are not stored on your computer. You can visit our website and watch the shows you have paid for any time, as many times as you like. We have worked extremely hard to devise and create this advertising-free content for you. Please do not infringe our copyright or the terms and conditions on the website by duplicating the content classes that you see here, or by sharing your password access. If you like what you see, why not encourage your friends to watch the free videos, and maybe treat them to some Classroom Credits for their next birthday!
Q. Can I watch the shows full screen?
Yes! Just click on the fullscreen icon on the player controls below the video. You’ll also find that the video player has two options, one for HD and one for SD. Choose the HD for best viewing quality, just switch to SD if you have a slow internet connection.
Q. Can I watch on my iPad?
Yes! You can watch DMTV video workshops on your iPad, iPhone and other mobile devices so long as you have an adequate internet connection. If you encounter any problems just let us know.
Still have questions? Don’t worry! Just email us and we’ll be happy to help out.
Meet Your Hosts
DesignMatters started out as a mother and daughter team of Linda and Laura Kemshall teaching online courses. Over the span of almost 20 years, the business has evolved into DesignMatters Art & Craft School offering a huge library of creative workshops and inspirational information to help you develop your own skills as an artist and maker. We’ve recently added a third generation to the team, in 2020 Amelie has joined us to co-host the Creative Kids Classroom.
