Linda chats with Pokey Bolton

Hi everyone

If you follow us on Instagram, then you might have already spotted Linda’s interview with Pokey Bolton. Pokey is the founder of Quilting Arts Magazine and Crafting a Life/Quilt Napa. She’s always been so supportive of art quilters like us and her IGTV interviews are providing a lovely informal platform to connect in these tricky Covid times when so many other opportunities to showcase what we do have been cancelled or postponed.

Linda chats with Pokey about how she first started quilting way back in the 70s, and how she’s gradually built a career in art quilting from making her own school uniform  to learning to sew patchwork during her lunch breaks at work.

There’s also a brief little whirl around the studio, but as you’ll see Linda’s not here because of her skills as a camerawoman! We’ll have to organise a proper video tour if you’d like to see the creative spaces where we work. Let us know if you’d like that.

If you missed the Live chat you can watch a recording of it over on Pokey’s IGTV channel. Here’s a link. If you don’t already follow her, please do, there are lots of other chats with textile artists that you can watch on her channel. Plus you might also like to check out her Crafting a Life website and find out about her next event Craft Napa: Uncorked at Home, 2021.

Thanks for watching the interview. Hope you enjoy it! Do pop a comment on it if you do and tag Linda in @lindakemshall

Bye for now,

Laura
