Exploring London, Polka Dot Papers, Free Altered Book Video

Have you had a great week? I hope so. As you know, last year and the start of this one, was a pretty tough time, so now that I’m feeling a bit better we decided it was high time for a few days away. We packed our bags and had a wonderful time exploring London.

I’ve been posting photos on my Instagram feed so do head over there if you’d like to see more from the trip. I took more than 200 photos but I promise not to bore you with them all!
These brilliant colour-changing lightbulbs were in Carnaby. And below, of course the beautiful interior of Liberty. I love browsing the fabric and home floors, but didn’t buy anything! I think it could be quite easy to get carried away!

I loved this collection of digital printed velvets and wallpapers. I’ve not designed anything for our printer for ages and came home feeling very inspired. I have sketchbooks filled with pages that could be developed for exciting prints. I really ought to get on with it!

New Video Workshop – Polka Dot Papers

This week we have another brand new video workshop for you on DesignMatters TV. Our subscribers can log in now to watch me make some glorious painted papers using a really easy batik technique. I just love these! Look out for them making an appearance in my sketchbook and mixed media work over the next few weeks. In the video I’ll demonstrate just how to make your own stash of beautiful papers like these.
DMTV Members can view this video now, if you’re not a Member why not consider joining us? You can check out our free videos to give you a taste of what we offer and sign up for access to over 30 videos for just £12.

Free Video: Altered Book – Nests and Eggs

You know we love altered books and we always want to inspire everyone else to make them too! There’s a new flip-through video of Linda’s Nests and Eggs book which will hopefully give you ideas for your next altered book. Take a look at the video on our Free Stuff page.

Thank you for reading our newsletter this week. We’ll be back again soon with more.

Love Linda and Laura xx
