Hemlock Tee, Dimensional Fabric Paint, Ruby Star Project

OK, I admit, I’m late to the party with this one, but this week I’ve sewn a Hemlock Tee. (Apologies for this naff photo, I’ve not mastered the art of the selfie!)

It’s a free pattern from Grainline Studio and is extremely easy and quick to sew. Mine is made from a Rag Market find so the fabric cost less than £2. It’s a simple one-size pattern and I was so pleased with it I’ve already cut out more. I’m sure it’ll become a wardrobe staple this summer.
Also on my cutting table is new school uniform for Amelie. We’re going for an all-in-one shorts suit for the summer term. I have till Monday to get it done, wish me luck!
I’ve been on a bit of a mission to cut out and sew as many clothes for me and Amelie as I can, if only to make a dent in the massive stash of fabric I’ve got. I must not buy more, I must not buy more…

New Video Workshop – Dimensional Fabric Paint

This week’s workshop focusses on fabric paint products. I’ll show you how you can use dimensional fabric paints, Puffy and Slick, to add interesting texture to your fabric work. I’ll demonstrate how you can use them on a finished piece of work to add that something extra.

Ruby Star Quilt Project

It’s time for a little update on the Ruby Star Quilt Project. Well I’m still sewing! I’m stitching stars for several hours every day in the hope of getting the quilt completed before Festival of Quilts in August. I’m a little anxious that the weeks are zipping by so fast, but hopefully I’ll make it.
I have been so amazed by all your support so far during my illness and my fundraising. I was quite astonished to receive this in the post recently…

This fabulous quilt has been made by Jill and donated to the project. It will be available as a prize when we hold the raffle. I’m in awe, not only of Jill’s generosity, but that she has actually finished her quilt! I must go and sew, right now.

Thank you for reading our newsletter this week. We’ll be back again soon with more.
