Alright, we know you’re going to think we are helping you do nothing but put off the evil moment of beginning, but seriously, you have to have your materials in order before you start! Our tip today to get you started is simple, go sharpen those pencils. It’s a quick job, easily accomplished and you can sneak a few minutes in your workroom.
A sharp pencil will always give you a better drawing than a dull one. Whether you prefer an old-school desktop sharpener or the freehand honing of sharpening with a knife, get those pencils ready.
Once sharp, get organised. If you’ve got loads of drawing pencils, watercolour pencils, Inktense, coloured pencils, sort them out. Arranging them on a shelf or along the back of your desk in interesting containers will only help your workroom be a more attractive and appealing place to be. And besides, those pencils will be at the ready and easily in reach.
We love to use vintage glass jars, ceramic pots, and wooden boxes with compartments. Look out for containers you can up-cycle from the kitchen or garage, or keep an eye out in junk shops and flea markets for quirky containers that suit your style.
Once sorted, all that colour just looks so tempting! We’ll be back soon with more tips for getting your creative space ready for action. Bye for now!
