Watercolour Tricks

In this video Linda shows how she applies masking fluid to preserve the white of the paper beneath generous washes of watercolour, then brings in coarse salt and crumpled paper to add visual texture.

To work along you will need:

  • Watercolour paper
  • Masking fluid
  • Synthetic paintbrush or colour shaper
  • Watercolour paints
  • Round paintbrush size 10 or 12
  • Kitchen paper or cloth
  • Coarse salt crystals
